The UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SGGs) calls on all nations to make the world a safer, more peaceful and prosperous place, for all. It will need all stakeholders, including governments, authorities, international organizations, industry, businesses and civil society to participate in and realize this ambitious vision.
SDG 4 Quality education
Over the past 13 years, Fondation Kids with a Cause Europe (KWACE) has supported schools in Fiji, India, Mali, Myanmar, Niger and Tanzania, providing hundreds of children with clothes, school materials, meals and funds to continue their education.
Children helping children
The money was raised partly by children in schools in Switzerland and France, who participated in our fundraising programmes.
Read for a cause is a reading programme, in which children read as many books as possible over a month, and are sponsored an amount per book. Not only does the money help enhance the education of other children, the fundraisers improve their own reading skills.
The Future president’s calendar programme involves a whole class, which chooses a theme based on what they would do if they became president, such as, protect nature. The students then draw a picture for each calendar month and sell the calendar at different events.
SDG 6 Clean water and sanitation
One of the schools Fondation KWACE supports is the Danja School in Niger. Our donation in 2014 enabled clean running water to be piped to the school, as well as the installation of three flushing toilets. Basic hygiene is vital for all, which is why we were pleased to improve the quality of life for all students attending the school.
